A Day of Integration, Inspiration and Rest

On this day of discussion and practice we will come together to understand how to continually restore our connection to the resources available to support our work in the world. By connecting or reconnecting to an embodied sense of support from the earth, our ancestors and our community of healers. What is a calling? How do we prevent or reverse burn out in the healing arts or in caregiving?

This Event will take place at Dream Sanctuary, Long Island

Community Grief Ritual (In Person)

SACRED GRIEF.png

In this afternoon workshop we will come to warm the material of grief together in a circle of community. We will tend the untended losses of life through the creation of an alter, heart-centered conversation, poetry and song. Come prepared for embodied movement and kindly bring objects and photographs that help you access your inner sorrow for its full revelation and expression. We will remember those who have passed, mourn the environmental wounds and mend the loss of ceremonial space to grieve and make holy the tears of our souls. We grieve together and invite the insight and perspective that only fully expressed sorrow can bring. In a culture that asks us to remain positive at all times, we often bypass the initiatory experiences that loss calls us to.

This will take place at Dream Sanctuary in Sea Cliff, Long Island

Dia De Los Muertos Celebration + Ritual (In Person)

Day of The Dead Celebration.png

The Healing and Life-Affirming Experience of Honoring Death:

Curanderismo and Day of the Dead Celebration

Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is one of the most unique, intriguing and mysterious holidays on our planet. It’s a way that ancient Mesoamericans celebrated their reunion with departed loved ones here on earth. Still practiced today, it’s a collective healing ceremony to process the grief and loss that follows the death of loved ones in a celebration that includes everything the deceased once enjoyed––traditional foods, drink, colorful decorations, flowers, candles, music and dancing. On Day of the Dead, the departed re-join their family and community, awakened and brought back to earth to share joyous celebrations with their loved ones.

Join us as we explore the deepest meaning of this sacred ceremony. We will: Sample the traditional foods served on Day of the Dead, construct, decorate and consecrate a large altar dedicated the dead, sing songs, come to know the pre-hispanic understanding of the relationship between life and death, and learn how all of it relates to the traditional Mesoamerican healing system called curanderismo.

ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO UNITED WE DREAM

Authentic Mexican food lovingly donated by Oaxaca Restaurant

Please bring with you for our collective altar:

  • photos of your departed loved ones

  • any special items related to them

  • Food or beverage they enjoyed while they were still alive

  • optional: flowers and/or candles to add to those we supply

This Event will take place at Dream Sanctuary, Long Island

July 4th Celebration: Freedom of Heart to Expand into Joy

In Person + Virtual

In numerology 7 (July) represents the power of spirit and 4 represents revolution/hard work.   On this day, both the planets and numbers align for us to fill up our spiritual cups and release the ‘comfortable’ patterns we lock into that limit our spirit’s expression of joy in this world.   No matter your nationality, this is a day to celebrate the freedom of your soul - which knows no borders, restrictions, or limitations of space and time.   Let us gather in person (and online?).  We will utilize the consciousness and currents of this day to successfully expand the joy.

Re-connect with the Earth and our sacred extended community!

Join us for a day of ceremony in which we express our gratitude for the blessings of our past year and pray for our continued connection throughout the upcoming year

The day will include:

  • Building a ceremonial fire

  • Constructing a large collective altar outside with flowers, grains, fruit, candles and sacred objects

  • Sharing songs with Dara Hart, chants and prayers

  • Bob will share a Jot Mai ceremony that he learned from the Mixe, an indigenous community of Native people living in the remote high mountains of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. He will share the story of his initiation, the teachings and the ceremony that clears the road of life for each of us participating. Everyone will play a part in this hands-on rite of connecting to the Sacred as manifest in the material world through the four elements of earth, air, fire and water. By aligning ourselves with the power of place in pilgrimage and time at the solstice through ceremony, we connect ourselves to all that is, as expressed in the ancient cosmology of the Sacred Tree.

  • Luisa Hapriya will facilitate an closing circle for sharing, council, and integration.
