COMMUNITY GRIEF RITUAL

Autumn is a grieving time, a time of harvest and transformation, a time when the veil is thin and our ancestors can feel close at hand. We must move into the territory of grief and sorrow together. If you have lost a loved one or have unprocessed grief related to the state of our earth or our culture, join us.

If you are unearthing the despair of your ancestors or need a safe harbor to cry for a loss you feel but can not name, join us. If you have accumulated sorrow that you are ready to release fully into the earth, join us. We can not process our grief alone, we need the witness, containment and reflection of our community.

Grief and love are companions and they must sing their beautiful songs and be received with gratitude. One who fully grieves, becomes an emotional elder and learns to resiliently lead, to fully embody and feels joy work through them as a precious and mysterious ecstasy. When you attend to the despair and grief with a compassionate presence, you allow your love and gratitude to fully bloom and make space for a greater sense of aliveness to emerge.

You move the grief, like flowing water, it moves and changes you, it takes you to your knees and nourishes what is most sacred. Making time to contain and witness your grief in the presence of others is a practice that can be transformative, illuminating and healing.
